Seabrook Station will be conducting a required biennial exercise on Wednesday September 23rd.  One of the graded assessments of the exercise is the demonstration of alternative communications capabilities at several key locations, including the Emergency Operations Centers of each community within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ).

Our Eastern Rockingham County ARES colleagues have long-established relationships with key players in the eleven NH EPZ municipalities, and continue to test and maintain onsite amateur radio equipment at key sites in those communities.

State and Federal assessors have been impressed during past exercises with the demonstrated capabilities of ARES members to provide back-up means of receiving and relaying official status report information should primary infrastructure at any site be compromised.

As with past Seabrook Station preparedness and exercise activities, several members of the Greater Manchester and Strafford County ARES groups will be assisting with staffing key EPZ locations during this year’s exercise.
